Slapnik, CPA has been elected to the Board of Directors effective Wednesday, January 1, 2020. “I am honored to be elected to serve on this distinguished Board,” said Michael Slapnik, CPA, member at Scott and Company LLC.  “I’m excited to contribute my leadership abilities and I hope my insight will inspire a passion in others in our community to become involved with the Alliance’s mission.” A member in the assurance and advisory services department of Scott and Company LLC, Slapnik has been with the firm since 2003.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree from the University of South Carolina. He currently lives in Lexington, South Carolina with his wife and two children. “We’re proud that Scott and Company is a firm that attracts and retains top talent such as Michael’s,” said Don Mobley, Managing Member with Scott and Company.  We’re very proud of Michael for the contributions he will make while serving on the Alliance’s Board.” Since 2003, the South Carolina Cancer Alliance has been dedicated to the prevention and early detection of cancer, as well as improving the treatment of those affected by this disease.  The Alliance consists of volunteers who represent the state's medical community, academic institutions, nonprofit organizations, and various community groups.  Every five years, their volunteers work together to develop the five-year South Carolina Cancer Plan. This plan provides a road map of objectives for implementing their state's cancer prevention and control activities from 2017 to 2021.   The Alliance is located in Columbia, South Carolina.
